Dr. Katie Richey received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Tuskegee University in 2021 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, was inducted into The Society of Phi Zeta Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine and received multiple other academic achievements.
She began working with Tennessee Equine Hospital in April 2021 as an intern at both the Main Hospital and West locations. In January 2022, Dr. Katie accepted an Associate position with TEH-North, where she currently practices.
She decided to become an equine veterinarian at age 11 when she was able to observe Dr. Matt Lovell work with her pet donkeys. She pursued this dream full steam ahead until she reached her goal. Having such a passion for equine medicine from such an early age has given her a determination that helps her excel in her practice of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Katie grew up in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and loves attending concerts in Music City in her free time. She also enjoys trips with her family, swimming and relaxing at home with her sweet cat Clementine.
