Vaccination Protocol

RECOMMENDED VACCINATION SCHEDULE

*EASTERN AND WESTERN ENCEPHALOMYELITIS:
 - Annually
INFLUENZA/RHINOPNEUMONITIS:
 - Every six months (Horses in competition should receive this every four months.)
TETANUS:

 - Annually

RABIES:

- Annually

*STRANGLES:
- (Intranasal) Annually
*WEST NILE VIRUS:
- Annually (Horses must receive two doses 4 weeks apart initially.)
INITIAL FOAL VACCINATIONS:
 - These should be given when the foal is approximately 4 to 6 months of age.
    A set of booster vaccinations should be given in 30 days, third dose given
    between 10-12 months of age. The schedule of required foal vaccinations is
    the same as for adult horses after these initial sets are given.

*Maybe give twice yearly if in contact with disease endemic areas.
